This course honed some of my revit skills — and taught me new tricks. With several components to the course objectives, expanding my revit knowledge and conducting this 'mini' design exercise of a tenant fit out proved most useful.

Control and delineation of space through material and volumetric arrangement, to maintain both private and collaborative work environments within the same space. With a large expanse of glazing acoustics is of concern and will be addressed through varying horizontal planes and surfaces to create desired effect. Design elements promoting transparency will add to the aesthetic of an open office layout while maintaining physical separation of programatic spaces. Attention must be given to the users of the space addressing circulation control and functional placement of programmatic elements. Presentation spaces and screens with respect to natural light may be addressed by orientation over the need for physical barriers. Workspaces where a majority of a users time will be spent are preferably situated to provide screened/diffused daylighting, while small private room(s) for seclusion may offer opportune space to focus and collaborate in a naturally bright environment.
