Surfing - Day 8

Left to our own devices, the only scheduled group activity was our 3pm surf lesson.

After an 8am yoga session, I devoured a large breakfast - believing the kitchen closed at 10, and not 10:30 - which might have resulted in less hurried eating...

Afterwards, dressing for a swim, it was back to the beach. I then rented a board and hit the waves for 1.5-hours before lunch to put yesterday's lesson tips into practice - mild improvement, but I was expecting anything amazing after 3 hours total with a surf board. After lunch, there was time for another siesta (surprise!) before surfing.

3 PM: Today's surf lesson was drastically different. Not only were we all doing better, but a few of us tried catching green waves (instead of the whitewash waves). What a different perspective dropping in and riding into shore! Almost as good a feeling as rowing in a set boat.

Waves at 1.5m to 2m were both attainable and relaxing - although with their frequency and getting bashed around a bit also tiring. With the sun out verses yesterday's rain, Lahcen joined us in the ocean having witnessed us all flailing the day earlier, he had a jump on the beginner lesson.

Decidedly pushing dinner off until 9pm, several of us enjoyed some post-surfing beers in the warmth of the sun, after which I retired fireside to continue watching the sun set. Upon which true relaxation set in and I took upon myself to nap before dinner...

Following our last group dinner, a few of us said our goodbyes, and I unassumingly headed off to bed - exhausted from a long, active, relaxing day.
