Another beautiful hike: fresh mountain air and 1800m to 2200m in around 2-hours. Somehow Lachen managed to carry on phone conversations with bravado - scheduling pickups and making other arrangements - while leading our wide awake stary eyed crew.

*Before leaving we all gave money to Pam and Katie to be in charge of wine and liquor resupply: after emptying eight bottles, there was no way four would last us for a night in the desert.

Reaching the mountain pass with the sun shining - only to be shrouded in clouds and snow flurries moments later. Hot mint tea and coffee at the rest stop was quite pleasant.

Hurrying down the mountain.

On the way down Lindsay started a trend and some of us chose more direct paths of travel - albeit resulting in some(one) having to wait longer for others.

Patiently waiting.

Village approach.

Walking up to Douar Samra, Mohammed seemed to be instinctively awaiting our arrival and ushered us upstairs for lunch. Once again warmed by fire, the warm ambiance was much deserved. Our bags already packed and by the door, this would be our last meal here.

After saying our goodbyes and leaving well wishes in the visitor book, we made our way back up to the main road where our three toyota land cruisers awaited; piling in, it was time we were off for some glamping in the desert.

Cheers to desert arrival.

Upon arrival we got situated in our respective tents, and reconvened for a one-hour camel ride - a unique experience to be sure.

A short sunrise hike followed (for those able...) after which dinner would be served in our private tent.

Some fireside banter resumed following dinner - another early morning night for brazen souls.
